“Ownership on a digital space” “Ownership of prompts in Generative A.I.” “Ownership of digital assets!” Is all I’ve seen the last week or two. Longer if you include the hype behind NFTs. It’s really intriguing to see others begin to care about ownership with assets. I guess after the many sightings of platforms straight up removing/deleting accounts, communities, and all of the creations behind them with no explanation has spurred this movement.
One thing I’ve thought about is what comes when purchasing items: A ‘Bill Of Sale’ or ‘Receipt’ that confirms the date, time, amount given, and items contained at that time of transaction. It’s critical information for many and sometimes a saving grace if the authority of who owns an item/asset is brought into question.
Stores give receipts detailing an asset transfer, Web3/Blockchain has smart contracts for items and the transactions about who and what was exchanged are broadcasted across the entire Blockchain for participants to witness and confirm. I mean it’s simple, isn’t it?
Generative A.I. generations give no such offering for generated outputs from what I’ve looked at. There is no promise that the generated item is unique to the user, anybody else might elicit the same output if they manage to word the prompt similarly. I’ve asked one Generative A.I. to create a receipt for our conversation with a unique code and though it gave me a very detailed receipt that outlined what that chat log contained, it couldn’t put down a unique ID or code to signify that the chat was uniquely mine. It couldn’t even write down my username for the receipt!
These are just my findings and thoughts. I implore readers to contact an appropriate professional that deals with the subject of ownership. But it seems like having a receipt, proof of transaction, and a method of confirming ownership will be critical in claiming authority over a digital asset.

– Do The Research. Find out how to attain ownership over original creations on every platform.
– Contact a knowledgeable professional. These new technologies are throwing up chaos on what the standards were. Only an adept individual in their profession truly understands what is going on.
– Don’t be afraid of these new concepts. They seem crazy now but that’s because all of the information is hitting us at rapid speeds.
