I never know when the day is a ‘Research Day’. I am always looking up information and details on new upcoming features, technologies, and events but there are days where I find myself on a constant hunt sifting through articles, videos, and podcasts. All with the intention of finding interesting and useful knowledge on the inside.
The FOMO is real when listening to these new prospects too! I want to get involved so desperately but I often have to take a step outside and remind myself that all of this new information and knowledge I am hearing is still in the works. I’m also usually not in a position to do much with it anyway. After I calm down and get back into it through, I am thrilled that I took the time to properly research a topic as I often find a good source of information for an aspect or avenue that I feel can be a continuous resource for me to gain more insight and understand the subject more clearly.
It gives me a solid idea of where the subject might be heading and also gives me a resource to check back with later so I don’t have to spend more of my time trying to find information from scratch. I could just go through my lists and see what topics they’ve previously explored have updated.
So, don’t feel like every day has to be an ‘Action’ day. Instead, take the time to properly research and understand the knowledge so the next steps can be effective and crucial to development.
