Finding Knowledge often requires searching for different sources that are not in the regular algorithm. It takes a brave explorer to move outside their comfort zone in search of better sources but it is important that it be done.
Eventually a source of knowledge will share something and the community will repeat it to each other but hardly does the knowledge actually expand beyond the community. Take that knowledge and test it elsewhere and see what the responses will be. It may be insightful to others or it could be a misinterpretation of what the information actually means or how it should be used.
It’s a bit of a tricky situation because an agreeable community is sort of a ‘safe-space’ for many who just want to be positively validated in any form, and that usually will be the result if (re)posting information or creating in a small community.
Taking what was made there and sharing it elsewhere will be a true testing ground of whatever was shared or created, if it is valid and has legs or if there is something amiss. Other sources won’t be afraid to tell you that there is a flaw. Critiquing isn’t a bad thing but it often doesn’t come from a often frequented community because that community will generally gloss over a flaw because to say otherwise would hurt one of its members and the ‘reputation’ of the person who said it.
I’ve said this before but whenever I am researching or searching for knowledge on a subject I go over as many sources as I can, not just what I am subscribed to. They may be a fairly ‘credible’ source but their interpretation and the viewpoint from a solo creator with more in-depth knowledge on the subject are vastly different and that unknown, random, solo creator sharing their knowledge might hold the exact nugget of information I was truly looking for.
This post has gone in a lot of directions but the point of the subject is, don’t stick to one place for every resource. Branch out and see what or how others react / respond to what is shared, created, or discussed.
