‘Time’ needs to be rethought of for the individual. Thinking of ‘Free Time’ as the moments to relax and unwind is a common idea, taking time to unwind is necessary for the body and mind, but ‘free time’ isn’t actually free. Time is a precious commodity that cannot be gained back in any form. Employers pay employees for their work AND time. The struggle is always Time vs Money. Entrepreneurs are always trying to figure out ways to effectively manage their time with the money that they currently have available.
‘Free Time’ doesn’t always happen except during holidays where it is ‘expected’ for the company to be closed. Utilizing that ‘break’ period is absolutely crucial for a new idea, business prospect, and strategy for the opening hours of the business. At this time of this post it is the holiday ‘break’ period between Christmas and New Year’s, I’ve taken a chance to relax but today I am looking to redefine my ideas, business goals, and other aspects so that when the New Year begins I have a plan or goal to hit.
This current holiday ‘break’ period is pretty much mandatory for many businesses and that time is usually taken to rest and recover for the New Year, but ‘Free Time’ can come at unexpected times and should be taken advantage of to learn, grow, and plan whenever possible. If I want to break free or grow beyond my current status I need to have a plan. I need to have a goal, I need to have a plan. I am not going to accomplish that by only ‘resting’. There are so many mediums to learn, Video streaming sites, Podcast platforms, Articles, Web Searches, Livestreamed conferences, Online Courses, and other media outlets that are usually free for the individual to peruse.
Yes, use that ‘Free Time’ to relax, but don’t spend it all in one place. Time is a commodity and an asset that should be used wisely whenever possible.
Helpful Advice:
– Not everything heard will be comparable. But there are still nuggets of valid information to be gathered from many sources
– Multitask doing something that requires minimal concentration while listening. The information that is important will snag attention when it is heard
– Write down pieces of important information and figure out how it can be used with the current business model
