Knowing the exact definition of a word can help an individual understand their position in a space. Terms are one thing but Words themselves can level out the playing field to others that have no idea they were even allowed to play.
Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) were hyped up and promoted to appeal to ‘Artists’ wanting to sell their works(Songs, Paintings, Galleries,) but the actual use case was for ‘Creators’. A ‘Creator’ is anybody who creates something original. It could be a design, blueprint, recipe, instruction, anything that was personally created and not found in regular/normal media/medium.
There are many specialized fields that can benefit from NFTs besides Artists. Just think about what old original creations are forgotten in old note/work books that have no place in any genre or market. Think about how they could be transformed into a digital format that can be shown off to others and live, potentially, forever.
There might not be a market for ‘original creations’ such as what is inside those notebooks but then again, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure, and there are many creations that have yet to see the light of day because there is no ‘Market’ for it.
NFTs and the marketplaces that hold them can very well be the ‘market’ that holds these creations and bring new life to the idea of the creation.
I had this epiphany from reading a Medium Article about a Genome Scientist who turned his 3D printed bacteria into an NFT. They created it and so they decided to mint it and make it available for sale on a marketplace. There’s not a market for it(As far as I know) but now there is an option to purchase it.
Doesn’t that make the creator inside everyone more excited to discover that their ‘unmarketable’ works now have a market for them?
It made me excited and I want others to be aware of it too.
