Almost every program seems to offer the entire world on a platter. “The Everything application!” but yet the program usually excels on 2-3 things of the several options it offers. The rest is there but is absolutely pants compared to other services that specialize in those aspects.
Can the application make due with what it offers? Yes. Is it intuitive and helpful? Generally no. And trying to work with the shoddy aspects of the application just makes the participant stressed as the application piece is missing several key elements and quality of life tactics that other applications offer in their venue.
It’s absolutely ridiculous expecting great results from a application that just hasn’t hit the mark with those several other options because it feels like they were hastily tacked on as a feature to offer to pull in more participants but the poor service hasn’t been upgraded or optimized since it’s addition to the application.
It’s best to understand that the ‘everything application’ CAN do everything but in a clunky, not overly helpful manner. It’s distressing for me when I try to get the shoddy parts of the application to work but am given poor results and time wasted as a result.
There are other programs that offer a better version of what I am looking for and I should only expect the few things that work well to continue working well in that aspect.
Sure, I may have several programs that can do the same thing but it’s just easier for me to turn on a different program for each piece of a project I need so I can feel satisfied with the end result sooner and with less hassle the entire time.
Don’t stay chained to one program/application just because it offers the same service another program is generally superior in doing. We’re here to make progress, not toil and squander the time and resources given to us.
