I participate on Web3 as a creator but as a persona. I started out as a creator on there and that’s worked for me just fine. But what about other creators that have been publishing creations before the Web3 craze?
The ability to transfer or cross-post Web2/domain held creations to a Web3 social platform was difficult because much of the development on Web3 frontends was sparse and couldn’t support many of the assets or tools that Web2 could.
Text and Pictures? sure. Video? That was easy enough once you understood the idea of every participant on Web3 utilizing nodes as a ‘server’ of sorts. Audio? Well, unless the platform was specifically designed for Audio than probably not. This information was based on if one ‘created’ on the Web3 Platform first and had nothing to do with cross-posting.
Well, some Web3 platforms have spouted about ‘supporting cross-posting’ but what they provided was very lackluster and they didn’t actually implement ‘cross-posting’ as in directly viewing content from a domain website to the Web3 platform.
Well, one Web3 Social Platform on the Hive Blockchain is making a direct effort for Web2 Cross-posting.

The post has a lot of information but the major thing I am pointing to is this part halfway down the post:
“ Blog Post Import
- New
/publish/importpage for importing blog posts from external platforms: - Imports directly into the editor for review before publishing
- Supports external blogs, if you have blog in medium, blogspot or any other website/platform, you can import content into Hive
- Supports Hive frontends (ecency.com, hive.blog, peakd.com, leofinance.io, inleo.io)
- Security hardened: DNS validation, IP range blocking, redirect limits, response size caps”
Some creators with Web2/Domain creations have already implemented this new feature and what they’ve (cross-)posted looks good! It shows the content and even allows a to view a media player for audio/video.
Now that cross-posting from Web2 to Web3 is becoming an ‘official’ thing now any creation can be shared on the Blockchain and be allowed to subsist (potentially) forever!
